Like all of Vanguard’s equipment, the Alta Pro 263AT has such a sturdy build. The tripod is made of lightweight aluminium and supports up to 7kg’s. Weighing in at just over 2kg’s, the 263AT is easy to transport as it comes with its very own carry case. However, if you are looking for a padded carry case I recommend purchasing the Alta Rise 70 which is designed to house the Alta Pro tripod range. The feature I love most is the Multi-Angle Central Column. The central column slides out allowing you to adjust the angle in various vertical and horizontal positions, ideal for macro, landscape and panoramic photography. During an impromptu headshot session, I was able to angle the central column and place a speed light on the plate providing basic but effective off camera flash. The tripod measures 71.5cm when folded and 173cm when extended. The 3 section legs can be adjusted to 25, 50 and 80 degrees allowing you to explore new angles for that perfect composition. These can be adjusted with the press of a button for fast and easy setup. The magnesium alloy SBH 100 ball head effortlessly rotates 360° and features a quick release. The head also features two bubble levels, ensuring your horizons are straight. The tripod’s all black colour scheme provides a professional look. As always, I am really impressed with the build quality and versatility of Vanguard’s equipment. I have loved using the Alta Pro 263AT 100 and look forward to using it in future shoots. - Flexible, Durable bang for the buck.Purchased this (or similar) model tripod & ballhead a couple of years ago. For the price it can't be beat. It's durable, flexible and very steady. I mainly use it for 360° pano work but will be doing more macro work this Spring. Don't waste your money on more expensive ones because this will do just about any job in its category. - Built Like a Tank!The ALTA PRO 263AB 100 is an outstanding product. It is very rugged and durable. It has just the right heft in that it is not too heavy but manages to be stable in the most adverse conditions. It is the kind of tripod that will end up being a legacy item of my photographer's kit.
